Hipgnosis was a British artist and designer group founded in 1968, which specialized in original album covers and artwork. Soon they became the “court designers” of Pink Floyd. The first album cover they designed for the band was that of A Saucerful Of Secrets.
The main creative force of Hipgnosis were Aubrey Powell, Peter Christopherson and Storm Thorgerson. In 1983 the group broke up, but Storm Thorgerson continued working for Pink Floyd, often with the NEXUS company.
