Did you know that the skinheads from The Wall movie were actual skinheads, not actors? When shooting certain scenes, the makers had difficulty coping with their unfeigned aggressivity. Did you know that while David Gilmour was making his Remember That Nights DVD, Roger Waters was recording in the neighbouring studio? They met, but are said to have been rather cold to each other. Did you know that although they both recorded tracks at the same studio, David Gilmoure never met John Lennon in person?

Parry, Dick

Saxophonist

Dick Parry, born December 22th 1942, is an important British saxophonist.

Dick Parry is a long-time friend of David Gilmour. He performed with Gilmour for the first time in the 1960’s as a member of Gilmour’s band called Joker’s Wild.

Since then, he has been collaborating with many artists, but the most important part of his work is associated with Pink Floyd.

Dick Parry is the author of numerous outstanding sax solos on the albums released from the early 1970’s to Division Bell, for example the solos in Money, Us and Them, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, part 5 or Wearing The Inside Out.

Dick Parry also participated in most of the important Pink Floyd tours.

Parry took part in both the making of Gilmour’s solo album On An Island and the tour that followed. He played the sax in Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wearing The Inside Out and Then I Close My Eyes.
