Thorgerson, Storm

designer, artist

Storm Thorgerson, born 1944 in England, is a former schoolmate and lifelong friend of Roger Waters’. In the early 1960’s he even shared flats with members of Pink Floyd.

Storm Thorgerson and his art and design group, Hipgnosis gave Pink Floyd the distinctive visual style. Storm and his colleagues created most of the album covers, including the iconic Dark Side Of The Moon artwork, which was named the best album cover of all time.

Storm’s psychedelic style is unique and inimitable. Apart from Pink Floyd, Storm has created many other album covers for artists such as AC/DC, The Cranberries, Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel, Audioslave, Brand X and many more.

Storm Thorgerson released a book named Eye Of The Storm with his collaborators Peter Curzon and John Crossland. The book features examples of his work.
