Did you know that Syd Barrett reached the sound of the Piper at the Gates of Dawn album by setting all the knobs and buttons at the studio to form an ornament he liked? Did you know that in the song Seamus a voice can be heard saying “He is the real dog.“ right before one of the “dog solos“? Did you know that the name of the Pink Floyd Division Bell album was suggested by Douglas Adams, the author of the cult classic Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy?

Waters, Harry

keyboardist

Harry Waters, born 1977, is the son of Roger Waters and his secnd wife Carolyn.

His voice as a child can be heard on the original recording of Goodbye Blue Sky. The song begins with the words “Look, mummy, there’s an aeroplane up in the sky!” before the music starts. He also appeared on Waters’ Radio K.A.O.S., where he and his sister India are credited as “children in the garden.” It is even said that Harry and his sister can be heard on Two Suns In The Sunset from The Final Cut crying “Daddy! Daddy!” It has never been confirmed although it is fairly probable.

Since 2002 when Harry replaced the keyboardist Andy Wallace, he has been accompanying his father on his world tours. However, he has also performed along Marriane Faithful or Ozric Tentacles.

Harry is very keen on classic jazz and has cited for example Oscar Peterson as his major influence. In 2008 he released an album named Harry Waters Band with the Harry Waters Quartet.

Harry Waters has also performed concerts in the Czech Republic. As a guest, he played the keyboards with Filip Benešovský and his friends’ The Wall 2009 project in the Prague O2 Arena. One year later, the Harry Waters Quartet and their friends were a part of the line-up at the Jazzinec 2010 festival.

In 2011 he performed along the most prominent Czech jazz musicians in two concerts in Prague, on the 14th of April in the Potrvá café and on the 17th of April in Jazz Dock, within Roger Waters’ The Wall Live world tour.
