Biography - Rick Wright

Promo fotografie Pink Floyd šedesátých letRick was born on July 28, 1943 in London to Bridie and Cedric Wright. His full name is Richard William Wright. Rick has two sisters, Selena and Guinivere and was raised in a wealthy family. That allowed him to attend the exclusive Haberdasher's School, where he first became interested in music.

At the age of 17 he got to the Regent Street School of Architecture, where he met Mason and Waters. The three almost immediately started a band called Sigma 6. Syd Barret and Bob Klose joined soon after, but Klose left the band after some time.

Rick is the only member of the band to be educated in music. He took a two-week course of piano and gave up to learn to play keyboards himself.

On September 15, 2008 Rick Wright died of cancer.
